Well let's see where to start. I went to college at Murray, Kentucky where I got a tattoo and learned how to blow
smoke rings. Betcha didn't know that was on the curriculum. I met the most wonderful man on the planet while I
was there. Listen to this. I was bored with college guys so I asked my friend Mark, who was dating my friend from
California and lived in Sikeston, to hook me up with some fresh meat. So one night he runs into an old friend from Essex
and mentions my dilemma. He arranges me to meet his friend James. Here's the interesting part. James and
I sat next to each other at head start and kindergarten graduations but had to go through all of this to find each other again.
Personally I believe God wanted us together but that's just me. 7:00 a.m. and I haven't had my coffee so maybe I'm just
being really sappy or something. Anyhoo, we met March 4, moved in together April 27, got married June 25 and been
together ever since. It better be destiny otherwise we were really stupid! That year on Thanksgiving while he
was on a combine I told him of our expected arrival. He was so happy! The following year on July 28, (yes it adds
up I wasn't pregnant when we got married. sheesh), we had the first of the two most beautiful children in the world.
Shelbie Ada Brianna King. Gosh she was a gorgeous baby. I wasn't working so I got to be home with her. At
this time James was working at Brown Construction and left for work evry morning at 5:00 so Shelbie and I got to get up and
watch Banannas in Pajamas. Whoever made that show should be tied to a chair and made to watch it over and over! Let
me jump ahead to December of 1996. I found out I was pregnant AGAIN. Not to complain now, but then I wasn't ready.
That July 23, 1997 I had a beautiful boy who we named James Alan King, Jr. (Moral: Don't have sex in November around
deer hunting season). Alan was a gorgeous and wonderful baby! He hardly ever cried and fit into our family beautifully.
It was so funny but in our bedroom the bassinet was on my side of the bed and Shelbie's toddler bed was on James' side.
Maybe that's why we never had anymore kids! I would not trade those times for anything in the world. In September,
2000 I got a great job working for the state. I worked at the Girardot Center for Youth. It was a group home for
teenage boys who had gotten into some trouble. I tell ya, I had some relly eye opening experiences there and met some
of the most wonderful people. Co-workers and some of our "guests". I know I didn't work one-on-one with the kids,
but I hope in some way I made a difference. I wanted to adopt all of them but I just couldn't. I think everyone
should meet some of these kids and try to do something for them. Now since being diagnosed with MS, I get to stay at
home and be a full time wife and mother. I love being here for the kids whenever they need me. Of all of the things
I have done in my life, being a mother is the most fulfilling experience. I am so thankful to God that he gave me my
kids early in life. If we had waited I would have been diagnosed with the MS and may never had had them.

I told ya! James is the cute little blond boy smiling at the camera and I am right in front of him in the pink
dress! Cool, huh?
